The Fab Floor Bangor ME

Rikett's 70 percent quartz crystal composition adds flexibility and strength to vinyl tiles. Natural pigments carry through the material, which means no waxing, stripping, or harsh cleaning is needed to preserve the slip-resistant satin sheen. The 12-inch and 24-inch squares resist cracking, scratches, and indentation. Marbled and solid color choices include espresso, jelly bean, butter cream, and raindrop blue. gray matter

Gladiator Tile flooring features locking tabs for quick installation and nonporous PVC construction for heavy-duty uses. The 12-inch-square tiles have a textured surface excellent for wet areas. An antimicrobial additive keeps mold and fungus at bay. Choose silver or charcoal or create a geometric configuration using both. Whirlpool, 866.342.4089; www.gladiatorgw.com.

aged beauty

Twenty-foot-long Ancient Chinese Elm timbers are being reclaimed from demolished 400-year-old Ming Dynasty structures to be milled into exquisite flooring. Nails were never used, so nearly all of the 25-inch-thick logs can be recycled into especially wide planks. Milling yields a rich butterscotch color with a deep chocolate swirled grain.
